Tribute to Dr. Michael Jamison

BIOGRAPHY of MICHAEL JAMISON, DC

Dr. Michael Jamison began to lay his groundwork of expertise in ancient Asian Arts at the age of nine years old. His training journey led him from boxing to the Japanese fighting arts of Judo, Karate, Akijitsu and Aikido. By 20, he had become fascinated with T’ai Chi and Chinese Internal Arts. In time, this passion would evolve into an intense and expansive practice of Qi Gong. Lui He Ba Fa, Hsing-I, T’ai Chi, and Ba Gua forms.

Tandem to this study, Dr. Jamison acquired extensive training in styles of Northern Shao-Lin Kung Fu and myriad weapon forms, including sword, fan, spear, and staff, which he has taught as Chief Instructor of his own schools in the U.S. states of North Carolina and Georgia.

Now, decades later, Dr. Jamison continues this relentless study with the same handful of Asian masters who contribute ongoing inspiration and refinement to this tremendous foundation.

To this is coupled nearly 20 years of academic study and teaching experience in anatomy, physiology, Alternative, Functional medicine, and Chinese medicine. He has lived and studied abroad, gleaning a well-rounded exposure and first-hand appreciation of other cultures’ martial and medicinal traditions.

A proficient writer and speaker, Dr. Jamison has lectured for Kennesaw State University and spoken at, as well as presented workshops and seminars throughout the Southeastern United States. He has several published articles on Complementary Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Martial Arts, as well as various magazine, radio, and television interviews and appearances to his credit.

He is a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic and Functional Medicine, accomplished body worker and Creator/Owner of Inner Qi Wellness, a progressive, comprehensive natural healing practice and Internal Martial Arts studio in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, Georgia.

Through these rich experiences and a natural gift for teaching, Dr. Jamison offers his patients and students a vast spectrum of ancient treasures through classes, monthly forums and lectures, lessons, and retreats for improved health and well-being, delivered with an informed clinical appreciation at core of his teaching methods.
